Marco Island is the largest of the Ten Thousand Islands, and the only one with a resort address. It sits at the southern end of Collier County, a short drive from Naples, where the Gulf beaches give way to mangrove backcountry and the Everglades begin in earnest. The island is small enough to cross in minutes and quiet enough that most visitors never start the car again once they arrive.
Best Time to Visit The dry season, roughly November through April, brings warm days, low humidity and calm water. It is also the busiest stretch, so reserve accommodation and ground transportation early. Late spring is a comfortable compromise — the crowds thin before the summer heat and afternoon storms arrive.

Tesoro — the island's adults-only room, 21 and over, with Mediterranean cooking under an Italian influence, a contemporary lounge and an indoor-outdoor bar.
Quinn's — Florida coastal seafood on the sand, with live music and a tropical drinks list. The most relaxed of the three and the easiest to get a table at.
Beyond the resort, the island's dining leans toward fresh Gulf catch and waterfront rooms rather than formality. Reservations are still worth making in season.
On the Water
Marco is a boating town first. The Ten Thousand Islands begin at its back door: mangrove tunnels, shelling beaches reachable only by hull, dolphins in the passes, and some of the best backcountry fishing in the state. Charters leave from marinas across the island, and most want you aboard early.
That is the practical argument for a chauffeur here. A 6:30 a.m. charter and a car you have to park are a bad combination, and so is a sunset cruise with a wine list.
Getting to Marco Island
Most arrivals come through Southwest Florida International (RSW) in Fort Myers or Naples Municipal (APF), with private aviation also using Marco Island Executive (MKY) on the island itself.
